- The gates
The only access to forum was via the gates located at the center of the building's two long sides. We don't know how large these gates were, but the discovery of substantial foundations indicates that they may have been topped by pavilions.

Mp of the two monumental gates.
Two monumental gates, probably topped by pavilions, gave access to the forum. Two different land grading systems-one for the city and one for the monument-converged at these doors. They also gave onto to the various internal spaces of the forum. In addition to the passageway to the square, the gates allowed access to the cryptoporticus via a set of stairs with landings, traces of which have been discovered. It is possible that these stairs also led upwards toward the upper portico, and perhaps all the way up to the top floor of the building.
