- Master's Program in Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Objects
The goal of the Université de Paris I's five-year master's program in Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Objects is to train students in various areas of conservation and restoration, including that of archaeological objects. Since 1979, the Archaeological Unit has made a space available for practical work sessions involving excavated objects.
Since 1979, the Archaeological Unit has made a space available for practical work sessions involving excavated objects. Under the guidance of professionals and university staff, and in close collaboration with the archaeologists, students work on objects from Saint-Denis excavations, take part in storing and maintaining the collections, and have the opportunity to work directly on-site to carry out removal of objets in situ. The pedagogic value of such a collaboration is self-evident, because the students are confronted with real-life situations involving a variety of different materials.
