As far back as 1867, archeologists had noted the elaborate wall decorations to be found in dolmen IIIa. The monument was soon considered as a major site for Armorican megalithic art. Later discoveries were to confirm this assessment. These art forms are now mostly found in three areas: the cairn II grave, grave IIIa and the cairn II eastern facade.
