Surveying a stratigraphic section

<p>Archaeologists dig to expose sections on the edge of the site being excavated. Annie Roblin-Jouve, who laid the foundations of what we know about the geology of Étiolles, studies these stratigraphic sections, looking at how sediments have been deposited and how the habitat levels are intercalated.</p>
