Underground landscape

This is the first large volume – 40 m wide and 30 m high – accessible from the Palaeolithic entrance. To the south-east, the space is broken up by a chaos of enormous blocks resulting from collapses of the ceiling and the toppling of massive stalagmites. To the south-west and the north of the chamber, the floor is relatively flat, composed of fine sediments deposited by runoff and sedimentation, essentially after the human use of the cave. Two circular depressions indicating significant subsidence break up this area.
