On the last level of the Megaloceros Gallery, several decorated panels face each other. To the left, beneath the Bison Panel, a complete horse also faces the entrance to the gallery. It has been drawn in outline, in places finely traced in charcoal and supplemented by lines brushed in with repeated passages of a broad piece of charcoal. An irregular stump-drawing fill seems to evoke variations in the horse's coat. Some of the contours are then shown as highlights. The horse has suffered numerous impacts from the passage of animals, being redrawn with engravings and scrapings which do not always follow its outline exactly.
