In the deepest part of the End Chamber, the vaults are too high to be accessible, with the exception of a limestone pendant that descends from the ceiling, ending in a point around 1.10 m from the floor. In the Aurignacian, this occupied a special position because any person moving through the chamber encountered it immediately. Its form and situation perhaps meant that it was decorated with a particularly meaningful motif. Half of the works of art on this pendant were only discovered in 2000 during a systematic survey of the cave walls that were inaccessible to view.
