At the back of the gallery, on the left, the vault practically meets the floor. This is the location of the only genuine decorated panel. Perhaps the artists deliberately worked at the very back of the cave, or perhaps they had chosen from the walls of this gallery the only large flat surface that was easily accessible – or perhaps a combination of the two. The decorated wall is covered with a thin yellow coating, the result of an ancient natural superficial deposit, which later turned into a multitude of vermiculations.
