Floor Charcoals

The accumulation of significant quantities of charcoal in the lower part of the Megaloceros Gallery corresponds to a number of areas where pine wood was burned (anthracological analyses by Isabelle Théry and Stéphanie Thiébault). The datings obtained from these charcoals are identical to those of the nearby charcoal drawings, such as the Megaloceros of the Entrance (31350+/-620 years ago C-14) and the small mammoth (33000+/-1500 years ago C-14).
