One of the principal structures in the cave is located in the Candle Gallery. This is a set of basins constructed behind a number of slabs that were displaced by Palaeolithic people. Anthropo-geomorphological research has enabled us to determine how the slabs had been aligned, and has shown traces of the clay used to waterproof the basins. The meaning of these basins remains unknown: the only certainty is that they are located close to one of the rare permanent water supplies in the cave.
