The Maison Rouge takes its name from the colour of the bricks that bear the trace of the fire that destroyed City II. View towards the south-west: on the left, the start of the staircase in the antechamber-kitchen; in the foreground, the pseudo-central space. The fact that the walls have survived to a height of up to 2.20 m is an argument for the floor reconstruction.
