The pigments described as cobalt blue (in reality, probably Egyptian blue), applied to simple mud plaster, vanished as soon as they were exposed and were so fragile it was impossible to fix them. The southern wall was distinguished by a simple twist pattern with dominant tones of white, blue-grey and orange.
