Out of the two streets excavated along the edge of the so-called Souk district (City II), part of the intersecting roads of the urban complex, the one on the eastern side, excavated to more than three metres below its original level, reveals an "absorbent roadway" construction with a stratified filling of light and permeable earth mixed with ashes, gravel or crushed sherds, designed to rapidly absorb rainwater. At the top of the picture, the base of the gypsum foundations of the Souk house.
