The study of hundreds of artefacts from the workshop reduction excavated by A. Parrot in 1974 in the heart of the “Temple-manufacturing" area of City II (Pre-Sargonic Palace P-1) enabled E. Coqueugniot to reconstruct the entire chaîne opératoire for producing microperforators/borers and truncated blades with concave surfaces to create shell inlay decoration. This discovery marked a turning point in the study of Near Eastern industries, the significance of which had often been questioned up to this point.
