Arrowheads

Arrowheads
6529

In the 3rd millennium, although different arrowheads – lanceolate, tanged and broad-barbed types, etc. – co-existed there is no discernible and clear cultural boundary between the Land of Sumer and Akkad and northern Mesopotamia, such as that seen in domestic and agricultural tools. The morphological diversity observed points to functional variations (models of projectile weapons) or chronological variations, the reasons for which remain largely unknown.

Objects No. 3509 and 3589 (Upper Terrace area, City II and III). 1960 and 1961 campaigns.
