English 500-pound bomb discovered off Courseulles-sur-Mer. This bomb from the Second World War was discovered during an archaeological assessment conducted prior to the electrical connection of a wind farm off Courseulles-sur-Mer. In addition to such isolated discoveries, the holds of D-Day ships often contain scores, even hundreds, of munitions.
