Published in 1869, the Carte de la Gaule depuis les temps les plus reculés jusqu'à la conquête romaine was made by combining four other maps. The map of Gallia Belgica shown here was one of them. It was made using information provided by the vast network of correspondents developed by the Commission de Topographie des Gaules and through scholarly societies abroad.
