This model, produced for the musée gallo-romain in the 1860s, shows a Roman fortified line. It bears testimony to the museum’s educational approach, wanting to illustrate in three dimensions the military installations designed by Julius Caesar, of which signs were found by the Commission de Topographie des Gaules during the excavations at Alise-Sainte-Reine. This model has been reproduced in numerous textbooks.
