This album, Monuments mégalithiques du département de la Vienne, contains watercolour drawings by Alphonse Le Touzé de Longuemar. Longuemar served in the military before becoming an archaeologist, and was the Vienne correspondent for the Commission de Topographie des Gaules (CTG). This was the first archive document to be recorded by the musée gallo-romain. The individual plates arrived in 1865 and were bound by the museum in 1866. The album demonstrates the links that existed between the CTG, its regional correspondents and the musée gallo-romain, which at the time was still under development.
