This drawing by Pierre-Charles Robert, a member of the Commission de Topographie des Gaules, shows an inscription from a Gallo-Roman funerary monument found in Germania Inferior. Robert produced 16 notebooks on his travels, containing not only inscriptions, but also portraits and drawings of landscapes. At the beginning of most of these notebooks he gives the names of the places he visited. His copies are less detailed than those by General Creuly.
