This inscription from Narbonne refers to the establishment of a cult dedicated to the emperor in the provinces. It was reproduced using estampage, a technique which involves using damp sheets of paper to make an imprint of the surface of stone. It enables the researcher to have an accurate copy of the inscription and study it without being in front of the original monument. This was one of the new techniques introduced by members of the Commission de Topographie des Gaules.
