This document uses the same list of standard symbols produced by correspondent Ernest Chantre in 1874 for use on the archaeological maps. Here, the list accompanies 1,141 individual pages containing maps and forms provided by different regions to help the CTG produce its archaeological maps and dictionaries. These individual pages were later bound in this large collection, used by members of the Commission de Topographie des Gaules for their work.
