Entry to Marsoulas Cave (Midi-Pyrénées)

6000

The first painted prehistoric cave discovered in the Pyrenees in 1897, Marsoulas is located in the Haute-Garonne département some 80 km south of Toulouse. Since 1998, reexamination of the site has added to knowledge of the site and its archaeological context in connection with other region, particularly the Perigord and northern Spain ca. 13,000 BCE.
