The Taillis des Coteaux Cave has a unique Upper Palaeolithic chrono-cultural sequence that was developed within a stratigraphy some 5 metres thick. The levels that have been excavated concern the Aurignacian, Gravettian, Badegoulian and the Lower and Middle Magdalenian. Traces of the Solutrean have also been found.
