This imposing outline of an aurochs is the organising element for the nave. Its 2.2-metre length makes it larger than many of the other figures in this area. The outlines of the anatomical extremities were engraved on a vast surface coloured black and brown for the dorsal section. The muzzle, the tips of the horns and the hoofs were painted with a brush, whereas the other colour fields were stencilled.
