statuette discovered by Léon Nelli in 1886 in an anfractuosity, likely Magdalenian, at Lourdes (Hautes-Pyrénées). Édouard Piette presented this masterpiece in L'Art pendant l'Âge du Renne. It is sculpted in mammoth ivory, which was rather a rare material in western Europe. It depicts a small horse with many engraved details, including eyes, mouth, ears, tuft, mane and hide.
