statuette discovered at Sireuil (Dordogne) outside of a specific archaeological context. It is therefore its similarity to the Tursac Venus that allows us to date it to the Gravettian (ca. 25,000 years BP). This female statuette, sculpted in amber calcite, is very stylised. The breasts, stomach and buttocks ? elements in connection with sexuality and fertility ? are very developed, whereas the arms and legs have been neglected. The head is missing because the neck is broken. Statuette on display in the Palaeolithic Gallery of the National Archaeological Museum ? Domaine national de Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
