Bones discovered in the Magdalenian layers of rock shelters attest to the presence of herbivores such as reindeer, which now are found in the globe's most northern zones (Greenland, Scandinavia, North America, etc.). Reindeer provided a source of food, but were also prized for their hides, bones and antlers.
