Based on archaeological test trenches made in September and October 2020 as part of the Nouvelle Entrée Ouest coastal redevelopment project, it was possible to overlay maps of the Port du Barachois, built between 1829 and 1830, on to the site with a high degree of precision. The section washed away by the ocean can be seen clearly on this image.
