Landing stage (Saint-Denis, Nouvelle Entrée Ouest, 2017)

Test trench 9, on the coast, revealed the remains of the former Pont La Bourdonnais. This first landing stage, built in the 18th century, was a "flying landing stage" – a platform supported from a wharf by masts and cables. The paving is composed of connecting decimetric paving stones, cut from basalt stones and joined by sandy lime mortar. The eastern end of the platform is composed of large rectangular squared blocks.
