Many buildings still exist in elevation on the site. The main buildings of the former sugar refinery – the plant, distillery, stables and workshops – are now disused, while others have been restored and put back into use; the rum warehouse is a theatre, the small creole case or traditional house is an annexe to the town hall, the stables have been turned into a chapel and a football field has been built on the site of the ruined buildings.
