This fine earthenware pottery, known as Pearlware, discovered in 2016, was made by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood around 1779. The Shell Edge decoration – a scalloped rim – was introduced in 1767 and reproduced on Pearlware-type pottery from 1780–1791, when it became highly popular. It has been found on many settlement sites in the United States dating from the 17th to 19th centuries.
