Selhausen map

When the map was drawn up, the future Domaine de Pierrefonds is 780 metres to the east of the Rivière Saint-Etienne. It was essential that the plant was located near to the river to water the sugarcane crops. The water was also used to operate the hydraulic and steam engines.
