Archaeobotanic samples were taken during an operation carried out on the Îlet à Guillaume site, a former children’s prison. Plateau flora will be identified to learn more about the relic vegetation. These archaeological and environmental surveys will shed new light on works carried out on the site, including construction and plantations, during and perhaps before and after the opening of the prison and its subsequent abandonment.
