Skeleton with teeth sharpened to a point (Saint-Paul, Cimetière Marin)
11330

Among the skeletons excavated in 2011 close to the Marin cemetery was one belonging to a young woman with teeth sharpened to a point. This practice, widespread among some African groups, suggest the geographic origin of the individual, who was probably a slave. The slave cemetery hypothesis should be treated with caution since only one skeleton out of some fifteen was mutilated in this way.
