The centre preserves archaeological biofacts as well as artefacts. Biofacts are organic materials not transformed by human beings, such as seeds, wood, fauna, human bones, sediments, etc., which need to be preserved for the purposes of scientific research. This is a sample from tree no. 11 from the Palaeoforest of the Rivière des Galets (La Possession / Le Tampon) taken in 2013.
