The gable wall’s stonework was revealed behind a recent layer of plaster. Although even along the full height of the exposed area, the wall has been altered in two places. The opening of a window is indicated by yellow mortar: it was filled in with small blocks and the interior lintel removed at the same period. A brick and basalt rubblestone vent was knocked through above the blocked window.
