The courtyard of the mosque is bordered by a portico of which the semicircular layout harmoniously echoes the interior elevation of the prayer hall. The courtyard was originally empty. The pavilion covering a fountain and the courtyard paving date from the very early 13^th century. Lucien Roy, 1911
