Located at the eastern corner of the prayer hall, this square-section minaret was built reusing one of the square towers of the ancient temenos enclosure. The elevation attests to various phases of reconstruction. Its current, pointed finial is not the one visible in 1511 on a painting depicting the arrival of a Venetian embassy in Damascus, in which it has a bulbous appearance, just like its western counterpart.
