This section of floor painting, some 5 metres by 4.85 metres, comes from the audience hall above the solid masonry gateway. In the upper part, two musicians face each other, while in the lower part a hunter with a bow gallops on a black horse. The motifs depicted here attest to the Sassanid influence on Umayyad Near Eastern art. The rider's outfit is clearly Sassanid in style, like the broad, blooming flowers found at regular intervals on the arcading where the musicians stand.
