The Kaleshin stela had been known in the West since 1829, but Jacques de Morgan was the first to make a record of it. It was then transcribed, translated, and dated to around 800 BCE. The Urartian-Assyrian bilingual text describes the capture of the city of Musasir by a king of the Urartu.
