The museum's public rooms are shown in white and numbered on this plan. The large number of adjoining rooms made it difficult to create a museographic display. The rooms were also very cramped and visitors would not have had enough room to examine the objects. Only the cross-shaped Room 84 was large enough to hold the sarcophagi.
