Plan of the Dahshur necropolis

6490

This is a plan of the burial complex at Dahshur excavated by Jacques de Morgan. He published it in his Fouilles à Dahchour. The large central pyramid belongs to the 12th dynasty pharaoh Senusret III. It is flanked by seven smaller pyramids attributed to Egyptian princesses. The gallery of the princesses, which starts from the great pyramid, leads to seven tombs without superstructures, in addition to the four northern pyramids. This is where the Treasure of Dahshur was discovered.
