This sketch, published in La Délégation en Perse du ministère de l’Instruction Publique : 1897 à 1902, shows the excavation of the acropolis in Susa led by Jacques de Morgan. In the middle of a trench, a man pushes a Decauville wagon along the tracks. This system of moveable tracks was an efficient way to remove spoil from the excavation site.
