Grave 47 in Akhtala

Grave 47 of the Akhtala acropolis is a cist tomb: a buried grave lined with stone or large slabs. The grave contained the remains of the deceased and grave goods. Listed and analysed by Jacques de Morgan, these objects are today conserved in the Musée d’Archéologie nationale.

Group of tribulum stones

Group of tribulum tufa stones. An agricultural tool, a tribulum is a wooden board with fragments of stone fitted to its side. This tool is hauled over cut grain to separate wheat from the chaff.
