The Magdalenians came to Pincevent at least 20 times, and remains from their visits are as well preserved as at Étiolles. Here, we can see a hearth and the area alongside it used for work (confirmed by the presence of flint and the large amount of debitage seen in the foreground). When Pincevent was discovered in 1964, it became the place where André Leroi-Gourhan and his team implemented the methodological revolution that he advocated, for excavations meticulous enough to allow archaeologists to reconstruct prehistoric ways of life. Today this revolution continues at Étiolles, where researchers belonging to the same laboratory as the current team at Pincevent are working.
