André Leroi-Gourhan was a professor at the Collège de France and led the excavations on the Magdalenian site near Pincevent (Seine-et-Marne) alongside Michel Brézillon from the Ministry of Culture, who was responsible for the administration of excavations in the Paris region and closely followed the spectacular discovery of Étiolles. The site became a place for experimentation and the development of the revolutionary methods taught by André Leroi-Gourhan.
