The Magdalenian camps that have been found at Étiolles are located near a small tributary of the Seine, the Ruisseau des Hauldres. The most significant discoveries have been made on the stream’s right bank, at “Les Coudray”, where the archaeological stratigraphy is most developed. On the left bank, at “La Fontaine au Soulier”, excavations revealed an occupation that was less deep and covered a smaller surface area. Excavations are currently continuing at “Les Coudray”.
