By identifying the extent to which the teeth have erupted in young animals killed when just weeks or months old, we can accurately determine the season during which a site was occupied. The many teeth found at Monruz reveal that the site was only occupied during the spring and summer. This lower milk incisor from a foal indicates it was aged under 4 weeks.
