More than 160 perforated mollusc shells have been found across 11 Magdalenian sites in Switzerland. The species shown here are: Tympanotonus margaritaceus, Turritella. and Glycymeris. The vast majority are shells from the tertiary fossil deposits located in the Mainz Basin, the Paris Basin, the Stenheim Basin and in the upper Danube region.
